Enter The Dragon (1973)
This 1973 film stars martial arts legend Bruce Lee as Lee, who is sent to a remote island to expose a martial arts tournament and academy, owned and run by Mr. Han (Shih Kien) as cover for smuggling drugs and prostitutes. Only the best of the best get invited to participate in this tournament.
With no guns allowed on the island, Lee must use his wits and fighting skills to succeed in the tournament and in defeating various henchmen too. Having found an ally in a fellow competitor called Roper (John Saxon) Lee sets about kicking the arses of anyone daft enough to try and stop him with his immense martial arts abilities.
The fight sequences are stunning and are all choreographed by the great man himself. His ability is still second to none and it is a great shame that the world was denied the chance to see more of his great skills just as he was coming to prominence. This film also has one of my personal favourite lines from any film too. Williams (Jim Kelly) says to Han when he is told he cannot leave the island; "Bullshit Mr. Han man". He delivers the line with such coolness topped with his 70's 'fro!!
This film is excellent and just oozes coolness. The theme music is very cool and even if you have never seen the film the chances are you will recognize this funky tune! I thoroughly recommend this film to anyone who wants to see people getting their arse kicked in the coolest way possible by the daddy of all martial artists.
