Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
From a young age I watched STAR WARS, EMPIRE STRIKES BACK & RETURN OF THE JEDI and even now I still have fond memories of all three. Now that I have seen REVENGE OF THE SITH I thought, what better a time to review some of my favourite movies?
Whilst I'm not a Star Wars geek (I didn't go watch Episode 3 in a Darth Vader costume!) I am a really big fan of the saga so I think this qualifies me to do these reviews.
For those of you who don't have televisions or have been living on Mars all these years, Star Wars is the story of Luke Skywalker, an unlikely hero from the planet of Tatooine. After his Aunt & Uncle are killed by storm troopers, Skywalker is forced to join with Obi Wan Kenobi and the rebel alliance in a battle against the evil empire. As well as joining the rebels Skywalker also sets about learning the ways of the force, a power practiced by Jedi.
With special effects well ahead of it's time, 'Out of world' characters and excellent battle's throughout, Star Wars still rates highly for me even today when compared to all the latest sci-fi movies with the state of the art effects. With the release of Episode's 1 & 2 a lot of fan's felt let down or cheated by Lucas so it seems he took this on board for his final chapter in the saga - Episode 3.
An all time masterpiece and a must-see for fans of the genre!
